I continue learning new things through my vessels journeys around the world. I didn’t know that in 2011 Sudan was split in two and a new republic, South Sudan, became an independent state. In one of the images you can see two men, a sudanese to the right and a south sudanese to the left living in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. In another image you can see a lady selling tea and coffee. The colourful traditional dress she is wearing is called “toub”.
Many thanks to the Swedish embassy in Khartoum and to Louise Stenfors Virenfeldt who took the photos.
